Some people’s trash is another’s treasure.

It’s the time of year again for backyard barbeque's, trips to the beach, longer warm nights and of course garage sale season!!!

This, like consignment, isn’t everyone’s cup a tea.  But for me, I get a thrill out of it.  It’s a perfect place to look for certain items you may be looking for and would like to purchase but maybe not at the price that stores have to offer it.  And like shopping, you can be selective about what you buy garage sailing.  Obviously you aren’t going to buy something broken, very worn out, over used or something that doesn’t work.  And even though it has been used (in some cases, not even that) there is another thing called soap and water that can help you forget about any of those worries about germs or where has something been.

This past weekend I went out to one of the local sub divisions’ annual sale.  These are always the best to hit up because there are multiple in a row where you can park your car and walk.  They started right at 8 so I made sure to hit up the time machine at 7:30 to be there right at 8.  This way I don’t fight the rush of people and can be done early morning and have the rest of my weekend day to get other things done.  So, I took out $60.00 And check out some of my great finds:

All of this and I spent under $60!

Some of these items I looked up online and here are the comparisons in price:

Dora hat-- online price: $10  paid: .25
Disney Princess garbage can--- online price $16 paid $2
Dora night light -- online price $20 paid $1
Dora sharing book ---- online $5.99 paid .50
Tolo shape shorter ----online $20 paid .50
Dora plate ---online $4.99 paid .50

Princess sippy cup---- online $4.99 paid .25

These are probably the best finds:)
2 coach purses - average around $350 for both paid $20 for both
Coach shoes - average around $150 paid $5

The title says it all; one persons trash is another's treasure!  Many of the items I got are definitely things that we will use.  Another great example is the 3 tier white rolling cart.  i will put this to good use to organize in my basement- only paid $3.50 (this purchase I did get the evil eye from another woman who had her eye on it lol).  Also, the dish drying rack.  I was literally pricing these out in the store just last week and I couldn't believe how expensive they were!!  The cheapest was $5.99 and I got this Rubbermaid one for $2!  Great finds, I can hardly wait for next time!!
In turn, this is something to keep in mind when you are getting rid of some of your belongings.  Have a rummage sale and make a little extra cash!
Make sure you check out your local papers, online and even just driving around the neighborhood you are guaranteed to find some great finds rummaging this summer.
